Default AU IRS toe links/tie rods!

Anyone know an aftermarket sources for these? I've searched but haven't found anything concrete, and Repco etc can't find them. Ford dealer wants $1050 a side!!

Thanks

Yep that's what Ford charge for them - there are aftermarket ones available at about 1/5th the cost. Any reputable steering/suspension workshop should know the supplier. If you can't find out post again next week and I will get the name for you. My bloke has gone for the weekend. Lazy sod!

Not sure if there is one near you but i got mine from Bursons Auto.

http://www.burson.com.au/index.htm

There is a list of locations on the site.

Only cost me $120. You only get the outer half though, which shouldn't be an issue as its the ball-joint that flogs out. I was going to put it in myself but ended up getting it fitted when i got new tyres a few days later so i would have a correct wheel alignment straight away.

I almost passed out when i was quoted genuine

I've ordered a pair for myself too, just on spec to put on the shelf. Can't say no to free postage.

good find Jaguardave and undertow, those ebay prices are about what they are worth, the ford prices are ridiculous.

ebay is the best shop for mechanical stuff like suspension and steering components. ford charge ridiculous prices for items. saying that, you have to be careful what you buy. but most of the time sellers are wreckers/refurbishers or shops that sell good aftermarket items. asking your mechanic can often result in good deals aswell as they have hookups and friends in the industry.

Hey guys i was in a Ford dealership today so stopped in to see how much these were here in NZ.

Yes you are reading that right. So inc GST retail price is a staggering $3086.50 each.
I thought the guy at the spare parts department was gunna fall off his seat. lol

Now if you were a "smart" Ford spare parts manager you be buying a few hundred off eBay and offering them around to your customers at 20% off (Ford's) retail and still be making good money. Front bearings/hubs are another ridiculously priced item from Ford. Oh, don't start me!
