G'Day all, problem? With my air con turned on, I don't seem to be getting cold air anymore? had the Air con serviced in Nov 09, (needed re-gassing & to re-gas they had to change valves & seals to suit new type of gas which never seemed to be as good as the old gas) anyway, the outlet pipe gets extremely cold & ices up (see Pic.).
So far I’ve had the dash out (what fun) checked all cables are OK. Hooked up a vacuum cleaner with a reduced nozzle to all the appropriate hose & all the diaphragms switch the louvers OK. Clamped the heater hose closed, in case the valve was stuck, (although you can see it move when vacuum is applied. OK. Disconnected the HOT/COLD louver cable & operated manually, you can here it slap side to side & operates OK. About to look into cleaning the evaporator, but I do seem to have pretty good air flow, maybe it’s just not coming through the right channels if this is blocked with crap from the intake?? The bearing do sound like there on the way out on the compressor, but clutch engages OK, just noisy. |

It is possible that it is over gassed and is freezing in the pipes before getting to the internal vents, I would be heading down to the A/C man to have it rechecked
