Went out to my car earlier and the driver side floor was flooded, i've had the car 9 mths and it's been through Melbournes toughest conditions but has always been bone dry inside. We have a tree that drops leaves and seems to always find its way into the scuttle area which pi$$es me off but is there any known problems that the AU's had for this? places i should look for etc? Any help would be great as i'm thinking dollar signs with mr panel beater atm ...

Manual or auto ? Could be a crack in the wall at the Clutch cable exit point if it be manual,or as simple as blocked drain hole down in the wiper area either way it sounds like pull apart time

I think the best way is to take the guard off, then blow all the crap out of the hole. The you can clean it all out under the wiper motor area.

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11220972 fixed my water problems.. anything suspect at all, just throw a tonne of silicon glue on it and make sure its got a good hold on the metal/paint...

AMB - Yeah makes sense to blow it out properly by doing that.
AUIIPURSUIT - Thanks for that thread, while it's apart i'll probably just silicone it up anyway regardless. |

Well i cleaned out the wiper area then poured a watering can full of water into that area to see if it leaked inside ... nothing. Had a windscreen guy do a check for leaks ... nothing. ... Well it turns out that my roof lining was wet on the drivers side where it meets that plastic mould that goes down the windscreen .. Seems as though i have a leaky sunroof, with the real heavy rain we have had it looks like the drain pipes are blocked and the amount of water couldn't go anywhere but inside .. Sunroof gets serviced next thursday, hopefully thats the end of it.

Besides the spot weld areas, the other issues for leaking seem to come up consistantly is the windscreen silicon cracking after 8-10 years. A lot of the T-Seires boys have replaced windscreens and the issues go away. My XR8 looks like it's starting to have this issue. Small drip running down the windscreen in heavy rain(it's an auto and no sunroof).
