Default Hello

Hey guys,
Im Aaron, or better known as Panko. there are probably a few here that know me from xfalcon.com.
I drive a '87 XF Ford Fairmont Ghia wagon, with a T5 5 speed manual gearbox, extractors, sports exhaust, lowered. just a nice cruiser.
I thought i would stick me nose in here to see whats happening, so Hey.
Cheers
Panko

a few more details on the car.
The T5 manual conversion was done early 2010 after the original 3 speed auto broke reverse. i finished the conversion the night before AFD 2010. it still runs the 2.77 LSD auto diff, so a touch sluggish but super economical - 10.4L/100km on the open road

It has "low" king springs in the front, and 1.5" lowering blocks in the back.

the exhaust is a set of stainless steel extractors, into a high flow catalytic converter, into a custom 2" stainless steel sports exhaust system. sounds just like an XR6 Turbo

the engine is still original, with 240xxx kms on the clock. but im planning a full rebuild including port/polished head, and new cam later this year.

Welcome mate. XF Ghias are one of my favourite Fords. The interior still holds up as one of the best from Ford Australia and demolished the opposition at the time.

I was gunna say the exact same thing, god, they dont even come out with ash trays anymore, and they wonder why smokers throw buts out the window !
what you have next to your seat is pretty close to mine, even though yours may be put to use the right way, but mines called a tyre checker ( a little mini metal bat ) with all tyre stickers etc over it, it even says tyre checker on it, coppers pull me over and say whats that, the bat speaks for its self

thanks guys.
its been well looked after. my dad has owned it since 1992, and he is absolutely meticulous about looking after his cars. for example, he was the only guy in his office to be allowed to have an XR6 Turbo, fully optioned to his liking for a work car, because his boss knew that it would be clean inside and out every monday when he arrived at the office, and it would stay that way.
this was sadly parked under a tarp for 2 years leading up to june 2008 when i got my Ps. all good now tho.
eb2monty, have you got any photos of your xf ghia?

I had a xf falcon years ago, rebuilt motor and gearbox, rejetted carby, extractors, cat and system, up the timing a little.. Went great

Gave it to my old man.

Then bought a xf ghia in excellent condition for $150 the whole car. It had no rego but everything else good.

It was like a kid in a candy shop, took interior, wheels bibs n bobs..

Then a scrap yard bought it from me for $100 after i took all the goodies

Wow the XF is in fantastic shape for it's age - clearly your dad really took care of it. Those seats look really comfortable! Great cruiser mate. With the EFI crossflow and the 5spd it's probably no slug either I bet?
