Default Head set advice

Hi there, I posted this over in the audio section and haven't gotten anywhere, so thought I'd try here also.

I'm picking up my new (to me at least) AU XR8 this weekend, and one of the first things I want to do is replace the head unit with one that I can play my iPhone through.

I've seen the JVC KD-R716 and think that it will fit the bill. Does anyone have any experience with this head unit, or have any other recommendations?

My budget is around $300 for the head unit. I don't have any grand plans for for wholesale audio upgrades, just the head unit.

Brownie

Alpine CDA-105E - has a rear USB input, matches the factory illumination and works really well. Got mine from ebay for under $300 posted.
