Was looking for a lower grill for the old BA and stumbled on here.

Pretty sure there is an old thread about this.

Was looking to buy an EF/EL Fairmont. A mate was trying to talk me into getting an AU, which at the time I didn't like that much. He linked me to aufalcon.com to show me how awesome some of the cars looked on there.

Not long after, I signed the papers for my AU, and joined the forums between signing and taking delivery.

And the rest, they say, is history. Now my main contribution to the forum is a love for VN Commodores seldom shared by others! haha

That's pretty much the same as me, Mr Hardware turned to me one day as I was giving him the "20 Questions" treatment and his exact words were:

"FordForums.com.au, it will be the first and last place you will ever need to go, and will answer all your questions"

By god was he right! I even managed to answer a few questions for other people

Googled for a list of things to check when buying a used car.

Found a thread that someone had made. Good work to whoever made it.

I own a Ford Cougar and a Ford Explorer - according to some, I must have lost my mind twice!! I'm very happy with them both for different reasons and I've found a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum. Obviously there are others out there that like to drive something just a little bit different!
Cheers

Seriously, Jack was a member on here and after awhile I joined.

I came on here to join a Ford commnunity for research for my t-shirt business and then ended up staying, and signing on as a sponsor. UI pretty much dropped all the other forums I am a part of... what can I say? I enjoy it in here.

Please buy my shirts

This, most of you mention the proverbial hitting the fan on the old site.

What happened?

Years ago I won an auction for an XB sedan and I signed up here looking for information, etc.
The sale fell through, but a couple years after that I bought my XC sedan and realised my account was still active here.

I originally joined up as "WeHaveIgnition" back in 2006. I closed that account due to low self esteem issues. I opened my current one in 2009.

I originally joined after purchasing my first XR8 & wanting to become a part of the Ford community.

A friend's father bought an XY GT and I thought, 'Bloody hell, that looks fantastic' and I gained an appreciation for the older Ford models then and there...

I loved the look of the BA when it came out back in 2002 (incidentally, I thought the VY look crap at the time) as well. Most people at school were Holden people, so as I usually tend to be, I was against the grain....

I probably wanted to gain a greater appreciation of Fords on the whole and probably stuck Ford Forums in Google or something and here I am posting more crap.

But it's a well-run forum...very well run that offers a lot to members...

Any time I google any ford specifics trying to solve my own car problems, one of the top results is always an AFF post. (eg: EB Falcon valve seals) Only in depth ford fan sites such as this would have all these keywords in one sentence.
