Hey guys
I just had a look at the original plugs on my 1.6L Fiesta and they're BOSCH - HR8MEV (Ford Part# AYFS22CB). As far as I can tell these are standard copper plugs? Has anyone changed theirs to something different? Any thoughts? |

Hi Trumpy,
as far as I know they are some kind of long life plug, supposed to last about 60,000k's. Ford use them on a lot of the 4cyl cars for some years now. I had an '06 Focus and it had the same set up where they were scheduled to be replaced at the 60,000k service and were about 26 bucks each. Anybody know more details? cheers |

I don't think so mate. These are pretty cheap Bosch plugs called super+ which is the lowest end of the bosch scale. Not sure how long it really lasts but it's essentially a copper core with "zitrium enhanced' (whatever that means). You can get them for $3/each on the internet.
I guess that's why I was asking because it's a little odd that they haven't even used platinum plugs which is more or less the standard these days. According to Bosch these plugs are for vehicles 1955-1995 LOL so I'm a little confused. If you look up Ford fiesta on NGK websire it recommends platinum. |
