AU series 1 sedan XR6 VCT Manual
Hey all, on Monday I filled up with Shell V-Power for the first time on an empty tank (I usually use BP Ultimate but decided to see what V-Power was like) And today especially I noticed a large decrease in torque that I normally feel, particularly around the 3000rpm mark, could this be a hand in hand fault with the different fuel used? Also for a short while now (Say about 3months) whenever I turn my A/C on it makes a quiet whining noise from the engine bay and increases with engine rpm. At first I didn't think much of it (it was ALOT quieter when it first started happening and shrugged it off as normal operation) but now it is getting slightly louder and since it has started my A/C has been getting less and less cold. I'm thinking theres a concern with the compressor and maybe a leak somewhere in the system but just wanted to check with you guys if there is any common problem known with these? Thanks all and any help or advise on either concern if greatly appreciated. |

V-power is crap. If I get stuck and have to use it, I get woeful fuel economy in my XR, and the same goes for my wife's Kluger. Nothing but Ultimate for me. As for your ac, low on gas for sure, get right onto it before the seals dry out.

I wonder if resetting the ecu would help it learn the v-power quicker -its been used to the ultimate, then all of a sudden you've changed fuel.
