Default battery

jumped in my auxr6 last night and wouldnt start got a jump start and got going .the next morning it started straight away. got the battery and alternator checked and all is good.my mechanic tells me its the starter motor but im not convinced although its probably the original one.he says they can stuff up on the spur of the moment has anyone else had this problem.any thoughts would be appreciated.

It could be a number of things. get a second opinion from an auto electrician.

I'll say you're mechanic is probably right. The starter can freeze up at any time and look like a flat battery. Then when you jump it, the extra surge of power is enough to wake it up again. If your battery tested ok and is holding a charge under load then the starter is the likely candidate.
