Default brake machining

hey guys
i have slotted rotors on the front of my AU series 1 fairlane
and they are warped(steering wheel shudders from side to side under medium braking and at SLOW speeds under brakes it pulsates as the warped portions of the disc roll thru the brake calipers im guessing)

i was wondering if these can be machined as they are slotted?

and also is it worth upgrading to AU2 brakes to avoid warping all the damn time as ive heard AU 1s suffer from this very often
and if i get AU2 upgrade will i need new discs?
what other options are there for upgrading to? that have multi pot calipers and larger discs(i have 18" wheels so space is not an issue)

I have an AU2 and my discs were warped when I got it. I took it back and they machined them for free under warranty, but they aren't slotted.

Yes you can get your discs machined. If you have slotted rotors (DBAs) then the warping/shudder is just normal wear and tear. Discs require machingin every now and then, and the shuddering is there to remind you of that. Discs should be around $100 to be machined. An upgrade to AU2 brakes will cost around $1200, and AU2 brakes still shudder as well - in fact so do BA brakes, so an upgrade will not save you from getting the shuddering.

Slotted rotors need to be ground, not machined, some brake places normally have equipment to do both ways
