Does anyone have any pictures of it when it was red with NC rims? Can't find anything on the E-Series website.

They were built by Roush as evaluation vehicles.

I remember I bought the mag all those years ago. From memory it had around 225kW and they said it was easy power. I also remember the mag saying that the wheels made the brakes fade to buggery. Pity Ford never used the inlet manifold for all the windsors like the jack roush one..

It should be restored back to original, with the LTD rims, paint and standard body.

I like the way the car looked originally (LTD wheels and all), but the way it looks now is pretty nice too.

It had 227kW @ 5000 and 475Nm @ 3500 according to the specs released at the time (Wheels) and did 0-100 in 7.3 and the quarter in 15.4 @ 148km/h (92.5mph). Sh... very poor traction and a dud lifter (it had been thrashed for 14,000 km in 3 months) that restricted revs held it back. "not too much wheelspin before the Goodyears grab"... It came back from the states wearing 16x8 wheels and 245/50/16s but they stuck out past the guards so had to go for rego. Gearbox was a Mustang T5, it had an alloy tailshaft and 3.27 LSD diff. It had a twin exhaust joining into a single pipe just before the diff. The car started life as a white S pack Falcon, June 89 build. (reference - Wheels Feb 91)
I hope they don't respray under the bonnet, and they shouldn't be ashamed to show it off, that is part of the cars heritage, it was an engineering prototype then turned into a show car. |
