Default oils

what oil are you running and how often are you changing it. Mobil 1 is i think 5w50 it's mega thin on start up so it get's up through your motor quickly. And although it's say's to change it every 10000 i alway's did it every 5 to try and elliminate valve train noise becoming an issue.

i run penrite HPR30. I run penrite in everything from our drag cars to my around town cars. This is a pretty new car for me (i am into older V8's) but it just seems criminal to even pull the rocker cover off for some reason.I will ring ford when they open and see what they say.But i think it's a lifter noise of some sort.from the pics i have seen they seem to be built in and non-adjustable.I change Oil every 10,000 to 100,000 and every 5,000 there after.

Thanks for the response guys.

Does the noise go away, or is it always there?

WAY to thick for an AU. should be 10w or even 5w, 30W is for old, old engines, not something like the AU.

only at start-up but worst when the engine is hot.

I was running Castrol Magnatec but still had the same problem.so i switch to the oil i know. It's a lot better with penrite you can hardly hear it at cold idle but still evident at hot idle.

But yes your right oil is a little thick but worth a try.

Also getting a manual today for it. Wanted a Haynes manual as they seem to be fuller in content but Gregory’s is the only one available due to the holiday period.

Any idea's on manuals?
