hey guys, i found a guide on fordmods.com about how to add a trip computer, with the clock, fuel consuption and the rest of the features.
my question is, has anybody installed this, following that guide, if so was it successful, and did u have any problems, and was it hard to do. cheers

i added a trip computer to my EF using the guide on FM. Had no problems with it.
word of advice - when you get your computer also get the plugs and a couple of inches of wire to help make new connections of needed.

If its an EA im not sure.
On my ef there was a pin missing in the plug on the instrument cluster. I had to add this pin and connect it to the trip computer.

No! Don't disconnect any wires at all.
You have to join the wires together - otherwise you'll stop your cluster/radio/demister from working correctly. Make sure you disconnect the battery too before you start - otherwise you will likely blow some fuses. |

Follow the guide to the letter and you'll be fine.. the hardest bit is getting the right ECU wire

Nope, that's a good price. About the going rate, I think.
You can use either the EA one (silver buttons) or the EB2 one (black buttons) they both work exactly the same. And yup, just connect each of the connections to your wiring, pretty straightforward. |
