wont do it cause of smartlock, what a load of bull****, they just didnt want the job, find a mobile installer, smartlock or not it doesnt matter, AU have smartshield and you can still get an after market alarm added.

that's a bunch of bullcrap mate. You can put an alarm on a Smartlock car no problems! Shop around and talk to someone who knows what they're on about....Strathfield has good stores and bad stores...some of them end up with trainee installers that don't know what they're doing so they probably pass the job off.

You can either get an aftermarket type alarm or an upgrade alarm which works off the factory remotes. PM me or call my mob no. in my sig and I can help you out with some info.

cheers
Doug.

alarm and smartlock don't have anything to do with eachother (Smartlock is controlled by the BCM which no alarm changes). Do not get JayCar, it is the easiest to break through (my auto elec demonstrated it to me). I highly recommend Mongoose / Hornet / Viper. Make sure you find out if the alarm is approved by Car Insurers of Australia as that way you can with some Insurance Co's get a discount on your premium.

I have a Smartlock upgrade alarm too, wanted to keep the standard remotes and easy to install.
Haven't had a single problem with it.
