Default Queensland Transport wheel mod limits

For anyone who doesn't already know, these are the limits in Queensland for wheel mods on a motor vehicle with standard registration. I imagine the other states would be similar. Because I'm now with Shannons, I can have any legal wheel I want without altering my insurance.

Rolling circumference can be no less than 26mm or 15mm more than standard
Width can be no more than an extra third larger than the original width
Tyre load rating must at least equal with original
Front and rear can have different widths only
Wheels must not obtrude wheel arches

So this means my EL can be taken from 205/65-15 (rolling circumference 647mm) to 255/35-18 (rolling circumference 635mm), no worries.

Does anyone know about the spacers I need to fit the rims I want and where to get them?

Forget the spacers. I now know they're illegal because they usually transfer the weight of the car off the hub and onto the studs, whcih is only made to hold the rims on.

Kinda screws the choice for rims. I'm guessing some of you swap axles with AUs or something like that?

so 26mm.. whats that, about an inch??

so 16 inch wheels are the legal limit??

When you go from 15 inch rims (stockies) to aftermarket rims, the tyres themselves are actually smaller (low profile) keeping the rolling circumfrance the same.

What the QT rule means is that you can't change the actual rolling circumferance by more than *whatever* mm, meaning the actual distance around the outside of the wheel.

Question Where's the fatness?

So my question now is, how do you guys get big, fat chrome rollin on your ride when most of the good wheels have a 30-35 offset and the E series is (I've been told) 6, without buggering your insurance? :

rolling diameter is the key here.. It isn't just the rim but the rim and tyre combined

For example:- Factory was 215*60*16 or there about opn my Fairlane. That in mm is 664.. So aftermarket can be within 680mm or 638mm

a 235*35*19" is 647mm and legal

Just on here to say hi, just became a member of the e-series owners club, i'm hopeless with forums so i couldn't find the new thread button, neways i drive a 1988 EA Falcon, resprayed in cyprus blue, the power producer is an intec 4.0l 99 AU motor, pace makers 2.5" mandrel redback zorst, bit of hybrid runnin an ED manifold, the removal of the serpentine belt drive and thermos, instead running clutch fun and conventional belt drive, also a UNICHIP (thats yet to be tuned) rolling stock is a set of 17 x 8 boyd coddington SMOOTHIES wif pedders shocks and king spring super super lows (modifed rear _2: ), its had a power window conversion with fairmont gear interior, autometre tacho, oil press, water temp & air/fuel guages, rebuilt T5 and ed drive train noelathane bushes, well thats bout it, sorry for wasting ur time here but as i said i'm hopless with forums,
