As a potential Mustang buyer, I would buy this even if it was $10k more than Mustang.

Hence a good reason Ford would never allow it.

Had possible potential as a shared Lincoln / Thunderbird platform, oh well too bad.

Maybe, but i think they want to kill the Falcon name because of the baggage it currently endures from critics (eg gas-guzzling taxi ).

it'll mean the "longest continuous production name" will go to Porsche 911.
