Yep, the day they announced the FG X name, it hit me that it would be a nice combo. I figured that if I didn't go through with the car, I could easily onsell them, but luckily I didn't have to. Within 2 hours of the announcement, I had secured the plates. At least they didn't go to someone trying to make a profit on them.

I see it this way - when you mod yours to have 450kW, the plate will be spot on!

Just got off the phone to my dealer in regards to my XR8. Anyway to cut a long story short he told me total XR8 build numbers are going to be 1064. He was only able to secure two cars for the entire model run and now has a long list of customers to call and tell them that they didn't get cars.

Cheers Ryan

How many do we reckon they have built so far? 500?

I must admit im starting to lose interest in this debacle, might look at getting a used F6 or maybe see if they drop an LS3 in the SS

I still hope I get one, but, what a way to pee off a loyal customer of over 25 years. And, I am sure I am not the only one. Five months and counting, If I get one, another two to six months of waiting. Very Uncool.

Spoke to my dealer this morning and they have an allocation of 13 between now and the end of the year and not all are sold. Looks like they are out there just depends on which dealer and their allocations are they seem to be very different across the dealers. I don't think with the demand there will be any swapping between dealers. I get mine just have the wait so a happy camper

Nah there wouldn't be that many around.

What debacle? If you want one put a deposit down and you will get one.

I ordered a manual smoke XR8 in October 2014.

Called the dealer today, they have been allocated 16. I am number 2 in that allocation, delivery expected April 2015

My dealer said that total XR8 builds are now increased over 2000....

Discussed Mustang, he noted that lately people more interested in XR8 than mustang, had a lady who initially ordered mustang, now looking at jumping ship to XR8.

Actually, this morning into work, I drove past a new Mustang, black, looked amazing front on, got very excited thinking yea I could do that...then saw the rear end which was that chintzy yank look and a little busy/add on square in the flesh and steel with uh- that yankified look. Sorta my excitement deflated real quick.

Got a call from the Ford dealer in Wagga yesterday regarding XR8.

I went in there at the end of last year, when I was in Wagga for business, just to ask some questions and to see if they were saying anything different than my local dealer, where I eventually got my XR8 from.

Anyway, he wanted to know if I was still interested and said they had received 3 in this allocation. It sounded like they had at least 1 if not 2 that were still available.

If anyone is interested there could be an opportunity there.
I think the dealership is call Willis Ford in Wagga.

Cheers.

Just spoke to my dealer and they have been allocated 8 XR8s all in automatic, seeing as I've ordered a manual that doesn't help me much. He did say that he was going to try and get one changed to manual for me though. Holding my breath as of now. He also said the new Aero Blue was basically the old Sensation colour and that it doesn't suit the XRs.

Heard from my dealer today, they are still finalising their orders against allocations, but guaranteed I will see mine in August/September, exactly when I want it upon return from an overseas holiday, to say I'm both excited and relieved would be an understatement!!

Now, about this opti-coat, I was under the impression it's the way to go, but apparently it isnt?

Close...It's Hillis Ford, or Hillis Motor Group as they now call themselves.

My dealer at Macarthur Ford phoned this morning and said my March delivery has now moved to June as his first allocation was only 4 instead of 13. He said the total XR8 build will be 1,060. Another bit of 'bad' news was that the price was $1,000 dearer than first quoted. So now $61,000 drive away for Lightning Auto.

I had it done to my car (Not a Ford, but no matter) last May and being metallic Black I figured it was a good idea.

It's good stuff, I polished it this week for the first time in 9 months!..........

Just don't use our local agent

Anyone ordering Aero blue be very careful. This colour is nothing like Vanish.

Its very light an enimic. Its comparable to Silk (FG1 colour) but with blue instead of grey.

Wow can't believe the diffent build numbers being thrown around by dealers. I have to admit a city dealer did tell me they where going to build 3000+. Who else has heard the 1064 figure??

Cheers Ryan

Yes, my dealer said 1,060. That sounds right as the same dealer told me back in October that Ford could realistically make about 1200 XR8s.
Oh well, time will tell, but it is good to have one on order, no matter how many they build.
