Is there anyway i can tell if its the Series 2 engine as i know there the same block as Xr6... he Has told me if it wasnt a series 2 engine the wireing loom wouldnt link up ? Just wanting to confirm is there anything i can look for on the block to make sure its the xr6 one from the ghia ? THanks : |

as long as it has a coil pack it should go in IIRC it shouldnt have a dizzy as the ef's didnt come out with dizzys.

I'd try calling Ford with the engine number and they should be able to help.

the only difference was the head - the rest of the engine was the same.
look for the 'T' stamped on the front of the head. otherwise the bottoms ends are identical

If its an XR6 Motor it will have a "T" in the block at the front. From memory the only difference between Ghias and XR6's was the exhaust system, hence the difference in power figures. The engines are the same.

no dont assume that, all ef's came with coil packs, and no dizzy's the tickford/xr range came with a T on the front of the head, and a red rocker cover.

b2tf is right. the only difference with the ghia and the xr's in the ef range was the exhaust. the ghia ran a quieter and hence more restrictive exhaust.
