Default 2011Lw focus duratorq diesel timing belt/chain?

G'day just wanted to know whether my Focus diesel had a timing belt or chain. Having trouble getting a straight answer from google etc. I appreciate any help cheers

Technically both! On the DW10 engine, the exhaust cam is driven by the main timing belt, and then inlet cam is driven by a short timing chain between the inlet and exhaust cam sprockets.

I'm not too sure on the service intervals on these diesel engines. Perhaps someone else here will know, if its not listed in your service manual.

Peugeot say 180000 Ford I think at 200 or 240000 did my lt focus tdci st 180000 to be safe including water pump and tendioners.

The timing belt/chain needs to be done at 195k or 10 years, whichever comes first. Its cheap! only $225 according to the ford website.

THey have supplementary service items listed in one of their pdfs available on the ford.com.au website.
