Default Dummying smartlock computer

hey all...

is there a way to dummy a smartlock computer from an ed xr6 to work on an ea without doing a smartlock conversion?

dont know man, its weird tho, you can run non smartlock ecu in a car that has smartlock but not the other way around

How is that weird? The only thing different on a Smartlock ECU is the fact it won't start unless it gets the signal from the Smartlock module. A non-Smartlock ECU won't care if it's getting it or not.

Apparently you can get a bypass unit from Ford. Apparently. I've never heard of anyone using one. However they also apparently cost $400 or something like that, hardly worth it.

yep only way is 2 get a smartlock over ride box

ive go one in mine only takes 15mins to install
has 3 wires

i got mine from jmm

i think there around $300 dollor mark

all u do is wire in the +ve wire -ve wire and the 3rd goes into the pin 4 from memory
with the positive wire u can patch it onto one of the 3 red wires going into the comp i think from memory
-ve patch it onto the computer earth which screws onto the body

yep ive got a eb2 xr6 ecu
and yes i know i have a bbm but im going ot use the jmm interceptor to run the manifold as the interceptor has aux outputs

i think the interceptor is a bit pricey when you can almost get a ecu for that much that would do more then the jmm interceptor

lol im not paying that price anyway for the interceptor

besides its hard finding a el 5speed ecu there arnt to many around unless u can help me
