The wording is too vague to be enforceable. They just have to make a reasonable effort to keep parts for 7 yrs. Problem is they start running out within a few years of some parts they didn’t estimate demand for, and nothing can be done.

If its parts required for a recall they will need to remake them. By law.

Hey Syndrome, I recently saw a carsales ad for 2013 VF International wagon with crazy kms like 12, basically for sale new. 30Kish I think - that might count too.

If it does national new Commodore stock goes up by 12.5%

Nup, gone now. They were quite a nice pack, full leather. Done at start of VF launch and never continued much past end of 2013? Anyway, don't worry about that one.

Why don't dealers advertise all of their stock on carsales?

Probably costs them too much in fees.

Not getting enough foot traffic in the showrooms so they have all but stopped advertising on Carsales. And costs.

The more enquiries via Carsales the more cost, so as we all know with any car dealer they aren't making much on all there sales *wink*, so less advertising budget I guess.

Not allowed to under their franchise agreement. Toyota, Holden and now Ford have banned dealers from advertising their new cars on carsales, unless they are demos with over a certain amount of kms. There are still generic adds at full retail on there.

Hmmm, might be time to ring around all the Holden dealers in person to ask how many VF2 they have? If we are taking the thread seriously

I wonder what the ACCC or Consumer Affairs might have to say about that?

So, a VFII SV6 is/was $40,490 new (Red Book). I buy a new one for $38,000 (wishful thinking). The value of a 2016 SV6 is $26,000 (Red Book) top end of private sale, or $22,000 trade in on ZB (I know, I know just speculating). I have lost between $12,000 and $16,000. Not a good deal are they, if they are sold new at my theoretical discount.

Wouldn't care.

What is worse is how some manufacturers only have dealers in certain areas owned by 1 group. E.g. All Brisbane Lexus dealers are owned by the one group, so you struggle to cross shop them.

Maybe there are more new VFII out there than we know?

Wouldn't say no to one of those if I had a spare 54 large...

I bought my dealer Calais V off carsales.

Was listed as a used "demo" but 7 kms and first registration to me on the day we bought it. (Also listed with Holden database as the first owner).

My G6E was a demo (300kms) but first registration was to the Ford dealer (or maybe Ford Aust)

I figured that the used demo thing was some sort of tax advantage or corporate advantage to the dealer/maunfacturer.
