I'm going there for a wedding in a few weeks, taking the XR, anything I should look out for/avoid?

It's a great road to test just how alert you are, test how good your brakes AREN'T :
I have had a few panic moments but had it explained to me how to navigate that road without turning 50 shades of white before getting to the bottom...
Now I only turn 30 shades of white before hand..

The drive up doesn't really faze me to much... but coming down.. OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!

I came down there, with a trailer on, in the wet not so long ago, with adxr8 in the silly seat, and we did have a ball, even had the trailer on 1 wheel more times than I care to say here....
Its a drivers road, very dangerous if not respected.
Me, I just love it.

Matt I wouldn't mind trying rally, but if the road is like that Tamb one..
no thanks.. :

Apparently I am really good to laugh at whilst driving down there and once I get to the bottom ... yes, I do stop the car and actually get out...
Have been told by a few they would hate to have me in their cars as I would freak them out too .... :

*nasty nasty so called friends I have

I'm with you stroker... I love Henry Roberts dr,,, I use to hammer it down there, even Oxenford/tambourine rd is a lot of fun (I have 360ed my car on this road in the wet). Then there's the Goat track and the Back road down to Logan village, Both are windy and fun,,,,, But I bet you have not driven down Mystery Dr. With out a doubt it has a steeper grade then Henry Roberts(tho not as long) and the corners are sharper then anything else on the mountain.....

Where is it,,,,, When you come down the first steep decent on Henry Roberts and you get the long right hander at the bottom of it, Turn left at the begining of the right hander.. You will love it.....

its one of the most fun drives you can have, night is even better and a lil safer as u can see headlights comming the other way but you want to have good high beam, the lane loves that road hehe ;)

Oh no Ash... tell her that you would be much safer in the XR as its a heavier car and bigger, so will stick to the road so much better... Also has bigger Wheels, which means bigger brakes.. so that means you will have better braking power than a corolla...

*did that help???? lol

I think a crazier drive is the down side (western side) of Mt. Glorious, epecially after having been on the brakes fairly heavily for the last 30K's. Mt. Tambo is nice though, keen to go up gain soon.
