Hi folks.
I have a 92 EB series II with a 4.0, ABS, MPFI etc etc. Over the weekend I replaced the power steering pump as my old one was leaking onto the alternator (damnit!). The power steering pump went on without a hitch and has completely new fluid and doesn't leak a drip. The question I have however is this. The belt that was on the car for the PS pump is a Bosch 11A1180 (11mm wide and 1180mm diameter I assume?) and needs replacing to complete the new pump install (belts pretty stuffed). Now here is my dilemma: Bosch states that the PS belt for an EB 4.0l (1991-93) is a 11A1195. The belt that is on it is the above stated 11A1180 and the top idler pully is at the far end of its adjustment. Obviously the 1195mm diameter belt wound up being TOO BIG, but the Bosch belt manual claims it's the correct item. Curiously, Bosch also states that the belt for a 3.9 EA is the 11A1155 and i'm not sure that would be long enough. Any ideas as to why this is so? Is the Bosch catalogue incorrect? Input would be much appreciated thank you. |

I had the EXACT same problem!!!!!!! Just get the next two(?) sizes down (I think the catalogue lists it under EA55 like you mentioned). I'm guessing the pulley size is smaller (same as EA) on that particular brand of pump; hence needing an EA belt.
PS: I had this issue after replacing the water-pump.

Thanks for the input guys.
So I'm guessing the 1195 is too long, the 1180 thats on it currently (as stretched as it likely is) doesn't give anymore adjustment on the idler... Should I go and buy an 11A1170 belt? |

Just go try a few different ones until it's right. Supercrap is usually happy to let you swap and change.
