just thought i'd share a few pics of what i've had done so far.
before: after: what do you think? still have a few things to do yet. one question, has anyone powder coated their fuel rail yet? just that it needs to be sand blasted and i don't know if it would be such a good idea. |

well it's cast so all you have to do is sand it back (take the cast marks out and pits) and then polish it on a buff wheel. i done the alternator myself and got someone else to do the intake/throttle body. |

when i got the head worked they did my intake aswell. they opened it up and cleaned up all edges where the runners join up to that bottom bit. it just lets it flow heaps better. |

just a litle hand held air grinder to get all the cast marks out. i'll take a pic of it. then just used the buff wheel with a bit of rouge. theres some stuff you can get at super cheap but i can't think of the name at the moment.

Yeh some pics and stuff that you use to polish it would be awesome, I wouldn't mind polishing a few items up myself. They look awesome!

righto heres some pics. i only did my alternator with this stuff. had a go on the manifold but it sanding it was pretty hard, doing the runners was fine but the bottom bit was a pain in the *** cause i kept taking to much off in spots and when i ran my fingers over it i could feel the bumps.
buff wheel rouge i use on buff wheel. there are different colours for different metals sanding disks, i used the blue hairy one. it's the lightest grade. the others in the pic are all real rough ones for welds and metal. hope that helps, but there is real good stuff at supercheap you can use. i haven't yet but i'll get some tomorrow and tell ya the name of it. pete j |

hi all,
i've decided to get my fuel rail powder coated the same whit as my rocker cover. there was a few problems i had to overcome though. firstly they have to sand blast it and i didn't think that would be very good when it got all inside the fuel rail, so i made up a few plugs on the lathe. so hopefully that will do the job. the 2nd problem was that the clips that hold the injectors to the rail can't be powder coated casue they will get to hot and losse their spring. so tomorrow i'll be getting them chromed aswell as a few nuts and bolts. so hopefully everything goes well and looks awsome under the bonnet. pete j |
