Default EF Smartlock/central locking going nuts!

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and if anyone knows how to fix it?

The problem is that occasionally when I unlock the car with the remote, the locks cycle up and down continuously and will not stop. The only way to get in the car is to catch it when the door is unlocked and open it quickly before it locks again! While the doors are open the locking and unlocking continues, but when you close the door it all stops.

When it does this, it seems to carry on doing this each time you drive the car if your stopping and starting repeatedly, but as soon as you get home and leave the car overnight, it's all fine and won't happen again for a few days...

Any ideas people?

It may be your remote, it could stick when you press it, this happened on my mums car and after a while it got so annoying I broke the internals of the remote and it never done it again!

EDIT: I see it only happens once you press the button, and you say they cycle up and down while the door is still closed.........in that case I couldn't help you! Sorry!

its sounds like one of the front doors locking actuators is playing up. try to find the noisier of the doors, change that one first if you cant decide which one is noisier then
replacing the both might be your only option, i rekon your problem should be solved.

Your central locking motors may be out of adjustment.

Cool. Will have to have a look at the actuators (whatever and wherever they are!!)

I've gotta pull the drivers side front door trim off to tighten up a window, so will have a looksee then. Thanks all.

have you pulled off your door trims lately? the buttons may be holding to much of the plastic stick

yeh had the same problem with my eb wen i first got it. It was because the drivers doors had been fidled with by the owner. I opened up the door had a look and corrected all the locking mechanisms. Works ok now but every time you press the central locking button it makes a crunching noise instead of the normal sound.
