Default Cold Air Intake

hey

i have an EL FAIRMONT GHIA i recently bought. I was thinking of running a pipe from the air box down to the bottem of the car. the car would be able to breath nice cold air and would be alot better then how it is now.

you huys think this is a good idea

The El/f Intake Would Be Ok To Do This As The Bottom Of The Air Box Is Where The Dirty Air Comes Thruogh And Goes Up Top Passing Through The Air Filter, The Ea/b/d Would Need Some Extra Custom Work Done For That To Be A Sucsess As The Air Box Is The Oppisite Way Around.

OMG!!! Let's all in unison scream RICE RICE RICE!!! A bonnet scoop on an I6!!!

On a serious note, not worried about rain? I guess the water getting in would be minor.

Nah not that much suprisingly, went for a drive for near on an hour in the rain, and looked up the hole, a few drops, and opened the bonnet and the filter was dry so i dont think the rain effects it, and it would probably take in less rain then my old EL GT scoop

its a fibre glass box that will seal up against the bonnet when completed
its just sitting there for the photo, nothing is screwed down and it will be completed when i can be bothered. :P

the thing is on my old EL falcon the snorkel was ok where it was b/c a bit of air could get in throught the grill but on a el fairmont there is no holes in the grill and impossible for air to travel into the snorkel.

so i thought a cheap 20$ pipe straight down to the bottem of the car would do the trick
