Does the AU leather gear shifter knob fit the EFII column? Also is the AU shifter improved in that it doesnt spit out the button from the rest of the shifter rendering it broken?

I might be wrong but I think the AU knob might have a pull-up action, not a push-down action, therefore making it non-compatible with an E-series T-bar shifter housing & shifter gate.

Well Ford quoted around $380 for a replacement to the one i have now which is an absolute rip seeing the only thing that is wrong with it is the button (leather in perfect condition). Reason I thought of the adapting the AU one is because there are heaps of "momo" xr perforated leather ones for around $90 on Ebay.
