Default fixing dull paint

my nl has dull burgandy paint and a fair few long thin scratches all over it is it worth getting it professionally cut and polished? or would it be a waste of money. ive been told by a mate to be carefull who i take my car to because burgandy is a funny color and if the cut and polish is done wrong it can f*k the paint up even more.

if it would be a waste of $150 to get it professionally done id do it myself what products would u all recommend

You can give it a go with some cutting agent, someone will know good brands. Tried it myself but got no where. Took it to the pannel beaters where they hit it with a mechanical buffer and it came up mint.
