Currently 12.8L/100km (V8 auto)

I'm expecting this figure to drop over the weekend with a drive to SA!

i dont have a trip meter but i usually check when i drive home from uni, 220kays on the freeway and about 50kays around town before i fill up and i usually put in 25-26L for 270kays which is UNDER 10.0L/100 :P
occasionally it goes over depending on how much city driving i do and how hard i drive around town but other than that its never been more than 30L/270k

anywhere between 8L/100km (freeway only) to 20L/100km (spirited city driving) ... i think this tank i'm averaging 13-14L/100km

But the tank before this one was pretty bad.. i got only 300kms out of 47litres

Not sure about per 100k's, but i get about 270km out of a full tank with normal driving, so that would equate to around 25litres per 100k's :O It's on gas though :P

The trip computer says I have an average of about 7.9L/100kms, but I wouldn't put too much faith in it anyway! Sitting on the highway at 110km/hr, the instantaneous reading is usually about 8L/100 kms. Put the foot down and it can skyrocket to about 50L/100 kms, and when it's idling, it for some reason says 99L/100kms! : . Overall I get about 600kms out of a tank.

13.5l/100 5litre auto, mainly 20-30k drives and stops, that's it.

99L/100km at idle is because the car isn't moving. So, to cover 100km whilst the car isn't moving, it'll theoretically consume an infinite amount of fuel in the process.

Makes sense. That would explain a lot. It still looks funny at 99L/100kms though. It looks like one of the least economical cars out there! How bad are the fuel gauges in these cars? After fueling up, I have managed to cover about 200km before the fuel gauge started to drop. Then it started decreasing at a rapid rate.

It's using about 13L/100kms at the moment, but that's because I've been leaving later and later to get to uni, so I'm having to accelerate faster and faster...

Usually sits between 10-11L/100kms.

I get that happening with my fuel guage too, ea silver ghia, bit annoying really. All happy to begin with, then gets depressing!

I think it's a common falcon problem. My parent's EB does the same. It's annoying. I can drive to Gippsland (200kms) without any change in the fuel gauge, but after the return trip, it's down to about half. Really, also it should be about 1/3 considering I'm pushing 600kms a tank, and 400 is not half of 600!

No need to discredit yourself it *is* depressing seeing it at 99L/100km though!

And Dezza, my fuel gauge does that too (200km before dropping), VERY frustrating!

Usually about 13.5 L/100K, at the moment it's around 14.

EL V8 auto. Only city driving, it's much better on the Hwy.
