your ef ss diff will most likely be 3.08:1 ratio. the el lsd your getting will be either 3.23/3.27/3.45:1 depending on how lucky you are, it also should say on a little tag!
it "should" bolt up with no mods, am i correct in saying this guys?

Ratios will be different. 3.45 for the LSD unless it's be played with and the Futura will be 3.08 or 3.27.
And yes it'll bolt straight in. Oh wait, it's not a Ghia, might be 3.27? Check the tag/sticker. |

Ok, cool.
I found it on ebay, it only says fairmont. I take it everything should run ok, even though it may have a different ratio. |

The one on ebay is an EF diff and is 3.23 ratio according to the seller.
The EF and EL housings have sight differences. There are different mounting holes for the top arms on the EL and the watts link pin is lower on the EL. It should still bolt into an EF but if the watts link doesn't line up you can change diff hats to use your original.

They will still bolt up though. All E-series 28 pinion diffs swap over, it's just the brakes that become an issue.

But since the bolt holes for the upper arm on the EL are lower and further back, you would have to get the EL arms as well. Using the EF arms would throw out the diff angle a little wouldnt it. |

Isn't there two sets of holes for the lower arms? I know there's something similar on EBII/ED diffs.
Can't be hard to get the EL bits anyway. |
