Evenin,
Been trying to get my car all mickey mouse since yesterday, coz I booked it in for the cooler piping for tmrw. Anywwayys, the ED manifold went in all sweet but then I realised the TFI was hittin the super huge **** off dual tps bull shit.. so i turned it round and thought "I'll worry about this later". Annyways, after I fixed up some other random shit the car all started and stuff, but the timing was way advanced. So I went to do it the first time, pull dizzy out, put back in and it ended up in the same position somehow. Did it again in the CFI position now, hands all cut up like ****ers, and tried again, just starts if you hold it at WOT. Try again, can't adjust. Pull out, replaced after checkin if it's on comp stroke....still no go. I just tried one final time just before, i think it was in right, not sure because then my BATTERY went flat and I think I've flooded it, and then the dizzy bracket cracked and broke in 2..... Yeah my luck is shit, I wanna burn my ****ed up car. Couldn't ford think to make the TPS less wide so that you can spin the dizzy right past it? Or can everyone else do that but not me? It's only a Bee's dick off. And don't mention "teeing the dual TPS in to 1 EB-EL" one. That's ****ed up makes the trans go spastic. I'll be trying again tmrw as I've got mondays off, although I don't know what i'm gunna do about the battery part. I was lookin forward to non-pinging and some sssccchhhtttt du du du dud u. I hope the exhaust guy doesn't arc up. Anyway had to vent my anger. Sundeep |

Ash is off work tommorrow, he might beable to help ya. Send him a message. I'm guessing you can't jump start it cause your in the garage ?
He can take the battery from my EA even, as it's not going anywhere to fast. I'm sure you'll get it sorted, just persivere. Don't even think about burning it or kicking panels. It will be worth it in the end. just like my trnasmission... : |

Humf.
Didn't get much done today, should've called you Ash but I forgot. I got the car booked for Wednesday now, but I didn't get the timing set today. First problem was that I couldn't pull it out of the garage myself (driveway tilts down in to the garage), second was that the battery is flat so I couldn't even crank it over. It's gunna be a fun day tmrw, I'm going to have to figure something out. Anyone free tmrw who is good at timing and setting distributors up able to lend a hand lol? I can't think of how I'm gunna get it done my self. Like I said, first prob is that the front end of the car is up against a wall so I have to pull it back somehow, second is that it's battery is flat. Pretty hard to try and set timing yourself if the car's not starting as well. I have to sort out cranking the motor, turning the distributor and holding/looking at the timing light. Not fun. As i said you can borrow the battery from my EA, but i don't think that's much help to ya. Good luck with it. |

battery chargers are $19.95 at bunnings. put one on it over night, itll crank in the morning.
dizzy takes nothing but patience, theyre a bitch to reposition sometimes due to the teeth and the hex drive only offering a few locations where itll slot in... persevere and youll get there. and stop saying youre going to burn your car you lucky ****er! Jase |

Aight, taken a day off and I've got it all going sweet. It's just that those stupid TPS's that were in the way aren't even doing anything. It's still changing gears randomly and not engaging 4th/overdrive.
I'm just going to take it and get the piping done tmrw, then work it out after that. I might just change my whole manifold loom as stupid as it sounds. Sundeep |

Inhibitor switch is just to send a signal to tell what gear it's in to adjust idle and allow the car to start isn't it? It wouldn't affect the gear changes etc. I replaced when I got the new gearbox.

Yeah it should be fluttering by this time tmrw Can't wait.
I've just been doing little shit just then, like mounting stuff properly and neatening bits and pieces up. I'm 99% sure the TPS wiring is dodgy, there's pretty much no way of fixing it now except for removing the whole loom and replacing it but the F*ed factor is low. Hopefully, if all goes well tmrw when the boost is being pumped through the richness wont matter anymore : Oh and with the battery btw, it turned out that the last time I had set the dizzy up it had been just off (still couldn't tune it to the proper TDC mark though) and when I'd left it alone over night the battery had charged up just enough to crank the motor 5 times, and it just happened to start. So I let it run for a little bit to charge it, then pulled the distributor out for the 7th time and reset it properly. Sundeep Last edited by Sundeep; 31-05-2005 at 05:22 PM. |

I don't know, I'm going to try for the 10th of June to get the night off. I'll need that whole weekend off I think. CCC cruise, E-Series Cruise and Calder. It'll also give me a chance to get it all tuned up and maybe give it a dyno run as well.
I'm going o/seas the next weekend :( Sundeep |
