The wife always said , Once the kids go to school you lose them , they become property (for the want of a better word) of the education dept .

When our eldest came home from school one day years ago (yr 3)and said "My right's Are ..." she hit the roof .
Boy , will she be happy this is "US crazyness" and our youngest is doing yr 12 exams now before they think about doing that here .

I did Primary Education for 4.5 years and I was told that we cannot refer to the children as "boy" or "girl", as in "good boy".

It's meant to be some political correctness BS, but I was called a boy as I grew up and I've turned out relatively fine, despite my complexes :P

Man there are a lot of bigots here... That law states that parents cannot be referred to as "Mother and Father" or "Mom and Dad" because whether we like or not over there there are a lot of gay parents who adopt children....

Seriously the idea that a child is going to turn out to be homosexual because one of his friends has gay parents is absurd! How many of us heterosexual people decide to be attracted to women... Personally, I know I didn't...
