Lightbulb Why doesnt my ute want to start sometimes?

My ute at times just does not want to fire up, when it happens all it does is want to keep trying to crank over.
Stav was over my joint the other day, and he said it would be a fuel or ignition problem. Im agreeing with him.

What are your thoughts?

Maybe it's just me, but that makes no sence. "It doesn't turn over / just wants to keep cranking".

Most likely problems will be plugs/lead, coil packs, fuel filter, fuel pump. If plugs and leads haven't been replaced recently start there, fuel filter as well.

Also, how does it idle? does it hesitate when you put your foot into it?

Maybe a dodgy power connection to your fuel pump ... not sure if you can hear it click when the key it turned in the ignition (prior to cranking).

Then again ... you may have dodgy cam angle/crank angle sensor that occasionally plays up ... i am sure I heard this can be the cause of intermittent starting issues ... and it should throw a code too.

Get to a mechanic that can check the codes and see if there is any present ... get them cleared .... and see if they can replicate the problem and check for codes again.

Yeah the fuel pump is pretty loud as Stavros, pointed it out to me.
When I had my auto fixed he scanned it, and came up with unkown engine error or something to that regard.
If I get a new fuel pump (higher flowing one) will this effect my custom tune, ie too much fuel now??
Ill probally end up doing new leads/plugs, my dads turbo injectors and fuel pump, hopefully this will fix or help the problem.
