going back to work today, so i can find out aprox costs and legalities for you if you like. we do mod plates for induction and fit up turbos etc. can also give you a power run on the dyno before and after so you can see the power difference.

yes its completely legal

compared to vic where you must do a $2000 EPA test that is pre paid pass or fail ..

Bi6tim just got his ED Turbo complied in QLD that he just finished running on regular petrol nothing special to keep it under hte EPA restrictions etc.. which he did him self

Duffman had his done about a year ago by a 4x4 fabrication shop at caboolture

and theres a few more floating around

id say the easiest way is ring your local performance shop and ask them what their engineer requires for it to pass
and or get onto QLD Transport and get them to give you a list of engineers to speak to

theres also an application for modification you can get from them that you send in and they get in contact with you I think

good luck mate!!

legalties:
brake upograde need to reflect the performance upgrade
all emissions gear has to be fitted (as per factory)
exhaust emission have to be within factory specs (no black smoke out the end - seen that before)
no oil leads or water leaks or any other leaks for that matter

Interesting... I talked to an engineering signatory here in NSW, he said a brake upgrade wasn't necessary. Reasoning was that the brakes are tested at 160km/h to start with and even the AU1 brakes passed OK. Might be a different story if you add a lot of weight. BTW the NSW RTA require any brake mod (including upgrade, obviously) to be engineered.

Maybe Qld requirements are stricter than NSW?

Maybe it's discretionary with engineers (in NSW) coz I was advised I'd need an upgrade. I put on the S2 brakes as I thought I'd need the bigger brakes to get it all approved.
