Just wandering what people use to clean and polish sportsbars on their utes? i have hard watermarks all over it.

I use the meguiars metal polish, just rub it in with an applicator pad and buff with a towel. It comes in a little bottle, smells like coconut i think from memory.. Does a good job, gets a good shine pretty easy, but watermarks still visible, i think if i used a bit more elbow grease it might get rid of them though.. I use it on my nudge bar, chrome exhause tips, and aerial, does good things...

was in bunnings the other day and in the trade section amongst the sealers and membranes etc was a product that claimed to get rid of stains and water marks from polished aluminium. was aimed at truckies and had a picture of a truck with bullbar on it. Can't remember the name but it might be worth a wander through.

For over 30 years I've used Autosol Metal Polish for alloy and chrome polishing.
There may be others as good but I've yet to find one. |

Purple is polish really good. My dad used to use it on his truck bullbar and they came a treat.

Have heard from a few places that Purple is decent stuff.
I need to hit the nudge bar on the ute and the Territory soon ... they are looking a tad faded.

I buffed up dads tray on his ute using purple and i found it spreads alot easier than autosol.
Each to there own!  :

I guess for an everyday runaround anything that's "easier" probably makes more sense. I'll get some Purple and try it. |

as i have allready stated. Deep purple polish is the best hands down. i polish truck all the time with it

There's no doubt that Purple has good reviews but then again so does everything else. A simple google for "best metal polish" has people raving about stuff I've never heard of let alone tried out. That's part of the difficulty isn't it. All we can really say is that Brand "X" is the best of the ones we've tried. |
