Are the series 1 19lb maf and series 2 24lb maf the same? I got 2 cars and no working maf's, one series 1 and a series 2, the series 1 car has mods and needs the 24lb injectors anyway and the series 2 car is standard so im thinking of swapping the injectors around, but meanwhile i still need 2 maf's anyway but am wondering if i need to swap the ecu's over as well.

Are they both AUs? If so, they both run the 24lb injectors and use the same MAF.

They are both AU's but no, the series 1 had 19lb orange injectors and series 2 had blue 24lb injectors, im just not sure if ford just programmed the ecu different or if there was a different maf as well.

They were blue. You may be right about the XRs getting blue, and non-XRs getting orange - but only for series 1. My series 2 V8 (non-XR) definitely had blue injectors.

They should have the same MAF. The EEC will be programmed different for the smaller injectors...

Early AU1 XR8's did get orange injectors. Given that they don't breathe that well the 24lb injectors on a stock engine would be overkill.

Yes maybe but considering there is no difference from series 1 to 3 in the 175kw and 185kw motors yet they still put in the blue injectors.
Also there actually not even 19lb, there 142.5 grams/min at 3 bar. which is like 18.3lb close enough but i'd rate them as 18lb. All i know is with my engine which only has a cam and exhaust on it, no headwork, mine are max'd out at 100% duty cycle at 4000rpm. XR8UTE - Yeah i think the same thats its just the ecu program. |
