When I set the AC fan speed to 3 in my EF the fans surge/stop working periodically (like every 10-15 seconds). I think it will just be a dirty contact or something simple, just wondering if anyone could pin point the cause for me before I pull the dash apart.
cheers Mark

Yeh mine did that but it's fixed now.
Took it to an auto electrician, turned out it was a faulty fan speed resistor. You can either take it out or put a new one in *No need to pull dash apart, it's near the Air con intake in Passenger footwell

Yeah, if you got a Gregories manual it's all in there, pretty easy job.
Anyhow this is whats in the Gregories Manual 1. Remove the Glovebox Compartment 2. Disconnect & remove fan wiring connector from mountin bracket 3. Remove screw and withdraw the bracket plate 4. Disconnect wiring connector and remove the retaing screws from Resistor 5 Remove resistor from housing DONE

and there is plenty more crap in the box!
I cleaned out the leaves and hooked it back up. Now I can see little arcs comming from where the coils crimp onto the terminals each time the fan slows down. I reacon all they need is a clean up and little solder to fix up the connections and shell be good to go.

haha this is weird.
My fan is crazy, Ill leave it on 3 and it will work for about 2 mins, then stop, then start for 15 seconds and stop again. If Im lucky it will start up by itself but usually I have to switch it to 2 or 4. And your right 4 is to much! I thought this was just an EA thing to because my last one did the same thing. And to make it worse the vents barely work at eye level, the screen demister is fine and the ones at my feet just work. I really need to get it fixed :(
