Default your best mod

people i thought id start a thread for us all to discuss our current mods and which one has proved the "biggest bang fo your buck".

we can also discuss which mods worked best with our current mods. eg chip and tune worked really well with cam and greatly increased performance but cost $1400 installed.

probably my "B.B.F.M.B" mod was my DEV5 cam. unfortunately no dyno figures.

T5 conversion. It gave the car a new lease on life.

BFYB (Bang for your buck) - Thermofans, cost bugger all, car felt so much better.

For me the Pacemaker extractors second hand, gave the car a lot more pulling power but I'd probably have to go with the 1673 Wade regrind cam. The power increase was great and the idle sounds very tough, especially on cold starts it's lumpy as!

depends.

i'd view my brake upgrade (from stock to slotted fronts with EBC's) my best upgrade. gives you a thousand times more confidence in the car.

short shifter has made the t5 feel a lot better as well and is much more fun to change gears...

catback made the car sound a lot nicer so made me happy for quite some time.

Cam has made the car have a much nicer power curve.

so all those mods have been the "best" in their own little way.

If i had to pick 1, i'd say the brakes

In terms of visual mods, the Scorcher bar was my best mod. It took the car from looking old and worn out, to looking great! The extra panelbeating on the bonnet and new numberplate helped too.

In my TE the headers/exhaust, Unichip, alloy heads, camshaft were each worth an average of 15rwkw.

But from a driveability viewpoint the short shifter and 5th gear ratio change get the nod

Well for me it was selling the EF 6cyl i had and buying the EL V8.....Though still the EF proved to be a fantastic car during the period it was in my possession

As for mods i could mention all the extras i added to the car but i believe the best mod is a complete and thorough service. The benefits from a ''major'' service is definetely rewarding and a bang for my buck!
