Hi All,
I've got a 2000 AU wagon that the power steering has got real heavy all of a sudden. The Pump has fliud in it and there does'nt seem to be any leaks from the lines or the rack and the belt is tight etc. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Regards, SilverAU |

Sounds like the pump itself has gone.

Probably best to get it checked by a mechanic you know and trust. All the best with it. GK

you can have steering rack end seal leak without noticing it, as the fluid can be contained inside the steering rack end boots ...

Is it making any noises at all while turning?????
Your best bet is to take it to a trusted mechanic and put it on a hoist and get it checked out.

Sorry to hijack, but I have a noisy steering prob, and was wondering, how do you tell the difference between a buggered rack or buggered pump?
