I want to buy some stockies for my car so i can take the rims off to get them scratch repaired and sprayed....
The owner wreckons they wont fit an AU? Why? did the stud pattern change??

The stud pattern is the same, but the offset changed. The wheel wont be sitting in the correct position and possibly rub on suspension or steering (depending on how lowered/modified it is etc). Im pretty sure ford changed this to improve their suspension and brakes from the E series back. Although they didnt get it right with the series one, they AU2 onwards was a geat improvement.
AU+ stockies should be easy enough to get ahold of.

The stud pattern is the same but the rim offset is different so the EL rims will sit too wide and probably rub on the guards as well as the extra load put on the wheel bearings. Plus your track will be too wide and will get you defected.
