Default running red lights

Has anyone else noticed the trend for running red lights? not even accellerating through them, just more like ignoring them and sailing through ... maybe this is just a melbourne thing, but i can't believe what i am seeing.

Hell yeh, I was driving around 11pm the other night and a guy I was behind, went straight through a red light, like it was red for ages, It didnt just turn red, and he went straight through!! I waited for the green then caught up to him at the local maccas and I gave him a piece of my mind! He said "its late, theres no traffic", I told him he was a and he might hit someone one day.

Coming home from the footy 2 weeks ago we stopped at a red light. Some bloke in a hilux ute went around us and straight through the red light and then at the next lights ran another red to turn an intersection cutting cars off. I couldn't believe it. Some Sydney drivers i guess lol

been like it in Canberra for years.
I've found that you do not brake for an orange light and a red means another 6 cars through

Edit post.

I must try not to get into these arguments.

It's just as bad here in Sydney. Sometimes I think I'm pushing it a bit... then 2 more cars follow through behind me :

It's like it here in Newcastle. I'm particularly wary of it as I am motorcyclist, but also spend plenty of time in small trucks at work.

I'ts reached plague proportions basically because of a lack of enforcement. The only enforcement is done for speed & alcohol.

The amount of times, i've been ready to leave on the green and a car or three still comes through is unbelievable. Considering there is a 2s delay between their red and my green, means they are ignoring the lights for up to 6s, which at 60kmh is 100 metres.

its flat out dangerous, people who do this just dont realise the risks to themselves and others,
yet when you pull up next to them at the next set of lights they look at you like your the one who is an idiot !

I just flash my HIGH beams as they go through, they must stress for weeks waiting for a ticket thats never comming!
