Default ops i think i broke me au

My car desided to take on a tree, the tree one, im fine couple bruises, but the AU did its job and saved me, my head impacted against the passenger door knocking me out cold. But yeah im fine, cars obviously a complete write off, now lets see what the insurance company says.

can take an absolute floggin and you walk away safely
really glad to hear you're okay mate, that's a friggin nasty writeoff
i mean you hear of writeoffs but i'd be taking this as a really, really major event in your life, that's extremely serious.
ps i'm guessing you weren't babying it
but we're all glad you're OK, thats the main thing

Yeah i think ive used up all my luck for a long time to come, as for insurance company i'll be glad if they just pay out the remaining on the loan, if they cover me.

As for new wheels im thinking bout just getting a standard ba/bf xr6, think i'll stay away from performance cars for a while.

Mate that sucks? Sorry to ask, but was it playing silly buggers, or rain, or something causing it??

Glad you ok and all the best for the insurance.

i had just washed the car, and gave it a bootfull to jump in front of the commodore trying to force me off the road, i was in the wrong lane, and in the wrong, anyway it kicked back, lit up both back tires, went sideways hit the embankment hard, which i think knocked the back tire off the rim, went sideways and from there it was pretty much all over, sideways into the tree, cops were trying to say i was doing 120, but i wasn't, i was doin 50ish around the roundbout, until i booted it, and i never hit 2nd gear so.

That's a nasty one!

Still, at the end of the day it's just a car; easy to replace.

Broken bodies not so easy.

Hope it works out for you.

So when are you getting the wreck back and selling the engine?
Good to see your ok, you can always replace your car, cant replace your life though.
Good luck with whatever you choose for your next car, just make sure you let us know what you get.

Wow thats a big hit, I am sure its a big wakeup call, seems you were very close to being a statistic.. Just imagine if a mate / missus was in the front seat, would've ended sadly..

A timely reminder to everyone I think, there are times where "a little bit of fun" turns into so much more..

Glad to hear your ok mate

Yup. You broke it.

Lucky to get out of that unscathed. I'm curious, in this case shouldn't the traction control have stopped the rear wheel spin? (I know jack about traction control... first vehicle that's got it)

Holy crap!!

Glad to see you came out with only minor injuries.
Not too often you would see a car looking in that condition with no fatalities.

That's a huge hit, lucky you didn't have any passengers. Any estimate on the impact speed ?

Happy to hear you walked away relatively unscathed.

Not when its turned off. Hence "lighting them up"-before the crash.

as for getting the wreck back i really have no idea when, but i will be buying it back and selling it.

traction control is a wonderful thing, but in the case of my car, if u nail it on a wet road it wouldn't always stop it, cause by the time it kicks in its already sideways and then instead of helping it can actually make it worse, cause it activates rear breaks and now your down to 4 cylinders without having full control over the car anymore.

but in the accident im pretty sure it was turned off.

You are seriously one very lucky guy to walk away from that one! Stoked you're alright and good luck with everything, and even if you do join the BA clan make sure you keep in touch with the AU bunch!
