Talking 4.11's/LSD = 0.5 second quicker !!!

my new pb is now 15.37 @ 147kph (full street trim with 1/2 tank and 91 octane rubbish) : it was 15.87 @ 144.5 kph before the ratio's went in. Well worth the money spent. 60' times are down 1/10th aswell although still cant get off the line without a smokeshow, may have to invest in some semi slicks.

have you got auto or manual? what is your rpm at 100kmh? i've looking at getting 4.11's, where did you get them from (ebay has a few of them on there) car wreckers have been raided of their 4.11's, very hard to find atm.

how much you pay for the gears?

hey mate, mine is auto. my rpm @ 100 is 2400 and 110 is 2600 (bear in mind my tyres 225/50/16 are slighty smaller than the standard 205/65/15's), i dont mind it reving that high, for the gain it gave the car its awesome. i couldnt belive just changing the ratio would make such a difference.

1st) gear now redlines @65 not 88
2nd) 108 not 145
3rd) 150 not 210 of whatever it was geared to do

so as you can see there much more usable. standing start now pins you back in the seat alittle : quite fun although leaves 2 black lines, overtaking is much much quicker to.

i got my gears 2nd hand on ebay but they were lapped and in very good nick for $150. :

i got my limo through work for $580 so the total with new bearings was around $850, me and my mate done the job.

haha me to, im very suprised that it is so quick considering its just clocked 200,000km so obviously its not a new engine (with nothing but exhaust and intake, and not even fancy plugs ) not that there is anything wrong with it apart from the tick ticks : i reckon that with traction off the line i could get aleast a 15.2 @ 148kph +

yer my car has done 220,000kms, and with a 3500rpm stall, still manged 155rwkw on the dyno. not too shabby for a clapped out motor that has done 3 head gaskets in the past on the same head thats on it now.

i seriously barely noticed a difference when i had a 2500rpm stall. once i got a 3500rpm stall, it was WAY better. and its barely noticable if u just putt around car parks, or round town. once u stab it, its great fun.

the car will feel snappier around town, fuel economy doesnt change much from stock if at all.

only bad thing is tailshaft will be spinning its ring off around 150kph, so dont push it too hard when overtaking on the highway

I found the 4.11 were actually pretty good all over when in a auto car as the huge 4th makes up for the final drive.

I loved the 4.11s when my car made less power. I ended up going back to 3.23s and it went alot harder, but thats the nature of turbos and loads.

I don't usually overtake anyway, whats the rush to get to work?

I just got a quote for a genuine set of new Borgwarner 4.11s, $800, that will work with my LSD right?

I'll have to wait until the car is on the road first though.

your talking diesel right ?

4.11 wont mean much in town, but hwy you'll burn fuel'
being out of the engins comfort zone, as for overtaking,, use BHP or torque..
BHP is something a diesel lack's, but you know torque is better.

Yeah, 95% of my driving is 100 or 110km/h highway cruising.
