Has anybody installed an auto EL XR6 ecu onto a manual e-series? Would there be much of a difference between the manual ecu? It would be a much cheaper alternative

you say your putting an auxr6 into your 5 speed eb, do you mean the au xr6 engine, cos i dont think that an EL xr6 ECU will work. youd need an au ecu.

yea thats what i mean, EL's use a dizzy while AU's have coil packs, instead of paying $650 for a Ford ECU, you could have bought a megasquirt2 which is fully programable for not much more.

nah the el ecu plugs straight into the eb loom and is what you need to run an au engine. if you use the au ecu you have to change the whole wiring loom.
you use the dizzy from the eb (no coil pack), and im running the el thermos and bbm which ill wire up to the el ecu. |
