Default Putting into Neutral while driving

Hey guys,

I accidentally put my car into neutral while driving down a freeway off ramp (i didnt push the stick right to put it into semi-auto) and the car made a 'crrrrrr' sound, i put it back into drive straight after.

Would this put any permanent damage to the engine?

WHAT!!!! YOU DID WHAT!!! OMG OMG OMG!
You better get a complete new body kit and an interior light globe straight away . . .

Nah, I reckon if it feels okay and there isn't any odd noises, you'll be alright.
Give it a week and you'll forget all about it.

These are tough little beasties.

Would be fine.

I accidentally slipped it into park once while driving along. That was a bit interesting.

you will have no problem
the sound if you had your foot on the accel would have been the engine reving up.

you will only damage the trans if you put it into park or reverse, while going forwards. As Windsor would have found out.

Thanks for the response.

I sent it in for my 3,000km service and they told me everything was fine.
