Hi All,
I went to pop the bonnet on a Ka this afternoon and the lever in the cabin snapped. The bonnet still released though. Has anyone done this, and do they have any advice as to how much of a job it is to replace? |

Same thing happened to ours. I can't remember how much we were quoted by Ford, but it was significant enough not to proceed with the repair. You can't see the broken lever and it still works, so we didn't bother.

Here's a quick photo - it looks like it has popped off however it is retained on one side. The lever itself and cable look OK.
I take it if I remove the screws nearby the plastic cover will come off and I'll get a better view? http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/5326/img1228k.jpg |

.... thanks for your reads/comments chaps - turned out it had just derailed, not actually broken. With a bit of jiggling I was able to put it back in to place.
