Australia post if its under 20Kg i think... http://auspost.com.au/index.html

Otherwise use someone like smartsend.com
They pick up and deliver door to door, you dont need an account.
The larger frieght mobs dont do walks ins anymore.

What have you been quoted so far? Mount Isa is a very expensive area.
What exactly are you sending?

I've had brakes delivered via AusPost before, if it is all too heavy for one box just split it into two.

Either that or try www.e-go.com.au who'll do it for $80 or so.

E-go.com.au is good & cheap, but have had a lot of issues with them with items being late, no response via email (they don't have phone support etc) but most of the time they got it delivered correctly (just not as quickly as more expensive couriers, so no problem there).

We probably only had problems with them because we were shipping about 50-70 items per week with them, so some were bound to get 'lost' or whatever. But for a once off, they're probably your best bet for heavier items!

Try all of the options so far. Or another option is interparcel.com.au. They use tnt and have online quotes etc.

This may sound silly but how about if you made it 4 box's.

A bit steep?? Pretty cheap actually considering the weight of the items.

I was quoted $290 from Townsville to Melb using a mates TNT account. for a 5kg box! (it was pretty big though).
$103 with smartsend.

Another way to look at this is to ask yourself," Self, how much would it cost me to go and get it?", and go from there.

Interparcel, in this case Australian Air Express (AAE) Express Saver ATL, will do it for $114.36.

I think it's all relative. I can buy parts for my other car from Seppoland for $45, but freight would cost $99 !!

These threads totally amaze me.
Everyone wants everything done cheaper. Well, fuel, tyres and registration charges have gone through the roof yet everyone still wants everything done cheap.

Why don’t people find out about freight charges before they buy parts from uppertoombuk west?

Does anyone here (other that GasOlane) know how bloody far Mt Isa is from Canberra?
