Default LPG gone through the roof

wow just went to fill my ute with lpg and all servo's in Hervey BAy decided to go from 89.9(which i think is a rip off) to 106.9 to 109.9 per litre, time to sell off ute and my tow car im half way through fixing as i needed v8 and lpg for cheap trips,"yeah right" so my nice eb fairmont ghia is useless to me too.
no excuse for 89.9 but 106-09 is just a kick in the face

Yep, just noticed here in WA it is up to about 97 cents a litre too! That is like a 20 cent a litre rise!

At these kind of price rises there wont be any point in LPG in Australia soon enough when its as pricey as petrol.

I'm at the stage of contemplating ripping out my LPG and having a real boot the saving is minimal. the loss of boot space was worth it when running cost was halved but ATM I'm saving very little. at least I've recouped my cost many times over and have been offered $500 for my Sprintgas SVI system

That would be LNG and not LPG.

Oz LPG prices are using the international Saudi Aramco pricing system introduced by previous Oz gov not sure which one.

70% of the pump price goes to this S.A cost alone!Only leaves 30% for taxes and supplier costs.

Melbourne is metro is 89.9 but country towns are up $1.00!

Prices will come back down in FEB.

I calculate that as at 9Dec the Saudi cp of ~970US/metric tonne is= to~ 54c/L Oz (seasonal variation due to an inability to stockpile)
A continued decline in the $A will also exacerbate the situation.

Its a friggin scam, for 12 months it fluctuated between 65 and 75 Cpl here in Adelaide's north.
Then all of a sudden it hit 79.9c and sat there for 2 months, barely any movement.
Then last week it went up to 95.9c and hasn't budged.

I bet it will rise more and end up where it is now, in February, effectively a 25cpl jump in 4 months.
That's a 33% spike!

I'm old enough to remember the petrol brand COR (commonwealth oil refinery) which I guess was a wartime security issue because it disappeared in the late 40s. Bring it back?.....yr dreamin!

Just paid .87cpl in Melbourne at BP, that's including the .02cpl BP reward.
What a joke, we export this stuff for peanuts to Asia and we get kicked in the guts for using a supposedly cleaner fuel.

The story is that the gov do VERY complicated contracts/deals with foreigners over 20-30 year periods to supply these fuels at set prices.

I have just sent an email to GasEnergyOz asking why we have to pay the Suadi Aramco 70% charge on every litre of fuel when we extract mountains of the stuff right here already....Waiting for a reply?

I reckon ther should be some sort of enquiry or protest?

Especially after all this Greenhouse emissions and carbon tax crap and now they've even taken the LPG rebate away....WTF!!!!!!!

WE don't own anything to do with minerals and energy!
International shareholders make the decisions when they choose to vote THEIR board in or out.
In the real world, Australian consumers are of absolutely no consequence end of story.
WE can whinge as much as we like, THEY aren't listening.
