After importing and exporting for the past 35 years you learn a few things about shipping companies.

I've been through half a dozen of the best in town, at the end of the day, there are some allot better than others however, when it come to something specific like cars / vehicles, it would be best to find an importer / shipper that specialises in this and has been doing this for a while.

Even then you will need to bring your self up to speed with the custom rules of both countries, you can Google this stuff.

The shipping company just won't know how to save you money and all the tricks that assist the vehicle on it's safe travel.

Every time I change shippers, I have to bring them up to speed on the rulings for my products, or they just find the easiest lodgement and go with that, I get a big bill and go off, why all the duty? cause shipping company couldn't be bothered looking up and finding any exemptions which reduces costs.

Someone like Nagoya Motors who bring in Jap imports, lots of them, with no problems, find and friend the dude that does this for them (then their shipper, and it would be easy, they would give you a list of compliances.

Possibly not much help however, knowledge here will save you heaps of time and trouble, and the right shipper will let you sleep at night.

Cheers

Steve

Talk to a multi national removal company.
Allied Pickfords. Crown world Wide.

These outfits ship lots of cars and will know the ropes.

Buy a copy of Unique Cars, plenty of company’s offering import services advertise there.
I don’t know if they are good or bad but you should be able to google them and hopefully get some feedback.

I just bought a 32 Pontiac in using Mainfreight. It took a bit longer than planned but the car arrived without a scratch. I picked it up from their warehouse in Melb which had quite a few muscle and classic cars waiting for collection.
