Hi all,
I have seen a few AU's over the years with the silicone hose kits from eBay, I am just wondering how they have stood the test of time? I recently replaced the radiator on the wagon, and the hoses have started to wear/leak ever since. $150 for a full set of hoses is tempting, if they work! I am pricing a set from a local shop, just checking as a comparison. Link for reference: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALC...MAAOxybetSAlA6 Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't do it. Oem rubber hoses on my BA, no leaks. Oem rubber hoses on my wife's Corolla, no leaks. Oem hoses on my father in laws 97 hilux, you guessed it no leaks. Rubber forms a better deal, especially over time. That's why they can be a **** to get off. Silicone on my XF? 2 clamps either end and still wept like a mother watching her kid go off for its first day of school.
Have also heard that water can be lost through silicone, leaving the antifreeze behind. No idea if this is true though.

Hrmm, I guess its like anything in life - Everyone has different experiences.
I just got a quote for a full set of rubber hoses for a significant amount less than the silicone, so will go down that path, but the AU in the shed is in need of some TLC - So still interested in the results.
